Two Electric Vehicles will be available to book through the Flexicar app at Banksia Apartments by Cedar Woods, Adelaide.
Flexicar, a membership-based car-sharing service, has announced an Electric Vehicle (EV) trial, making it the brand's first in Australia. Kicking off in Adelaide on 13 November, the initiative will include two EV cars stationed at the Banksia Apartments, situated in Glenside by Cedar Woods. The partnership with Cedar Woods comes at a time when Aussies are looking for economical, eco-conscious and flexible transport options. Two charging stations will be located at the Banksia Apartments, 9 Banksia St Glenside, with the EVs available to book through the Flexicar app. Eoin MacNeill, Vice President of Flexicar stated, “We know the demand for EVs is on the rise, and that this is particularly true for Australians who are looking to make more sustainable decisions in their day to day life.
“Stress around charge anxiety is one of the biggest blockers for those who are considering hiring Electric Vehicles. With our customers using Flexicar vehicles for short range trips, the trial removes this anxiety and is a great opportunity for people to test one out before purchasing. “Flexicar is encouraged that private enterprise is helping us expand trials such as these and we look forward to working closely with others to hopefully bring our Electric Vehicles to other cities in Australia.”
With Flexicar, residents and visitors of Adelaide, can now enjoy a cost-effective, clever, and simple alternative to car ownership. The Flexicar EV trial in Adelaide is available to book 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with flexible booking options, including hourly bookings with unlimited kilometres and daily bookings with generous kilometre allowances. Flexicar’s booking rates are inclusive of recharging or fuel, maintenance, and 24-hour roadside assistance.
The Flexicar app, available for download on both the Google Play Store and App Store, will serve as the gateway to this affordable car-sharing service. Current driver's licence holders can register for the service through the app or Flexicar website. Users can seamlessly book and unlock cars using their smartphones, and vehicles are to be returned to the original dedicated parking spot at the end of each booking. Flexicar's member support, both through the app and call centre, ensures users have assistance whenever needed.
