Is sustainable living high on your priorities?

Queensland is home to some of Australia's most diverse and vibrant ecosystems. At Cedar Woods Properties, we are deeply committed to creating communities that coexist harmoniously with nature.
Our communities in Queensland—Ellendale, Sage, and Flourish—are designed to respect, protect, and celebrate the wildlife that call these areas home.
Embracing Nature at Ellendale
Located just 12km from Brisbane CBD and bordering the beautiful South D'Aguilar National Park, Ellendale is a prime example of how sustainable community design can integrate with the environment. The Ellendale masterplan embraces 91 hectares of nature corridors and recreation space, resulting in a truly tranquil setting, connecting local ecosystems and promoting biodiversity. Our green infrastructure, including squirrel glider poles, nesting boxes, and fauna underpasses, helps support the safe movement of local wildlife, such as koalas, wallabies, and a variety of bird species.
At Ellendale, we have planted over 189,000 native trees, shrubs, and ground covers to restore and enhance the local habitat. These efforts help to ensure that wildlife can thrive alongside the growing community. Our design philosophy is rooted in sustainability, with homesites planned to preserve native vegetation, protect wildlife corridors, and offer residents stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty.
Sage’s Green Heart
Sage, located in Burpengary, the heart of the Moreton Bay Region, offers a unique blend of modern living and environmental stewardship. Over 30% of the community is dedicated to green space, including a seven-hectare ecological corridor designed to support local wildlife. More than 200 nesting boxes have been strategically placed within the corridor and surrounding environmental reserves to provide safe spaces for birds, gliders, and other native animals.
The community at Sage embraces nature through thoughtful landscaping, native plantings that attract local wildlife, and a design approach that encourages sustainable living. At the heart of the neighbourhood lies over 8,000sqm of dedicated parkland—a space where residents can gather, play, and unwind. The park features a treehouse-inspired playground, kickabout lawn, basketball and netball half-court, and cricket net, blending active recreation with natural charm. Natural elements such as logs, stumps, and mature trees have been thoughtfully incorporated into the landscape to support local fauna and enrich the play experience.
Residents are encouraged to adopt wildlife-friendly practices, such as keeping pets indoors at night and using non-toxic garden products, to further nurture the balance between modern living and the natural world. With its strong commitment to sustainability, Sage offers a tranquil, nature-filled environment where every moment can be lived meaningfully.
Flourish: A Natural Sanctuary
Flourish is a masterplanned community located in South Maclean, within Logan’s rapidly growing south-east Queensland corridor. The development has been carefully designed to preserve and enhance the area’s distinctive environmental values.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Flourish will retain and rehabilitate approximately 30% of the estate as green space. This includes the protection and rehabilitation of Flagstone Creek, which runs through the heart of the community. The creek corridor will be revegetated and cleared of invasive weed species, creating a healthier ecosystem for native flora and fauna to thrive.
Flourish has also partnered with the Queensland Trust for Nature to deliver significant offset planting at a 72-hectare conservation parcel. The location of the conservation parcel is recognised as one of South-East Queensland’s key areas for regional biodiversity.
As with Ellendale and Sage, Flourish places a strong emphasis on connecting people with nature, with tree-lined streets and future parklands that invite residents to step outside and enjoy their natural surroundings.
The community’s design ensures that nature is integrated into everyday life, fostering a sense of well-being for residents and providing a safe habitat for local wildlife. Flourish is another example of how Cedar Woods is championing sustainability through environmentally conscious planning, creating spaces where people can live, grow, and connect with nature.
Living in Harmony with Nature
At Cedar Woods, we recognise the importance of wildlife conservation, and the role communities can play in supporting biodiversity. Living with wildlife means more than just protecting the environment—it involves fostering a deep respect for the animals that share these spaces. Whether it's keeping domestic pets safe, planting native vegetation, or ensuring safe passage for animals, there are many ways residents can contribute to the health of local ecosystems.
Our communities in Queensland—Ellendale, Sage, and Flourish—are living proof that sustainable development can thrive alongside wildlife. We invite you to be part of this vision, where nature is not only preserved but celebrated.
By choosing to live in one of these communities, you are making a commitment to protect the environment and support a sustainable future for generations to come. Together, we can build communities that grow in harmony with the wildlife that makes Queensland so unique.
