A day in the life at Bushmead

BUSH Blog_Day in the life_Hero Image-1

Looking for some great things to do in the Perth Hills? Life at Bushmead puts you moments from a huge range of activities that the whole family can get involved in. Here’s how perfect day at Bushmead could unfold.

8am – Parkrun in Bushmead

The Kadina Trail Parkrun in Bushmead is held every Saturday at 8:00am. It’s a free, fun and friendly event that brings together the local community for a 5km walk, jog or run around the Kadina Trail. All ages are welcome to join in, so get the whole family involved!

You can find the event at Kardina Trail on the corner of Fortitude Vista and Northgate Promenade, Bushmead.

10am – Chill out at Treetop Park

After a shower and a bite to eat, make your way back out again to Bushmead’s newest park – Treetop Park. A park unlike any other, Treetop Park features custom play equipment that complements the beauty of the surrounding trees. There’s also a kick-about area for games of soccer or footy, plus lots of seating for you to relax under the trees.

12pm – Lunch at Kalamunda Hotel

Kalamunda Hotel is a huge part of the Kalamunda community and is a great place to go for a hearty lunch. There are lots of pub classics to savour on their extensive menu, plus a long drinks list to keep you hydrated.

2pm – Indulge in some retail therapy

Treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy with a visit to the neighbouring Midland Gate Shopping Centre. With over 190 stores to choose from, Midland Gate is home to an ALDI, Coles, Kmart, Big W, Target, Woolworths, an Ace Cinema and so much more. You’ll also find lots of dining and fresh food options to choose from, too.

4pm – Take a scenic drive

The Zig Zag scenic drive is a one-way road that runs down the western side of the Darling Ranges in Gooseberry Hill. It was originally part of a railway, but is now a much-loved destination to experience some of the best city views of Perth.

The steep trail runs almost 3km, so drive slowly and get ready to take in the amazing views and scenery.

6pm – Watch the sun set

What a day! After a busy afternoon, it’s time to sit back and relax. The Ridge Hill Green Park in Bushmead South is the place to go for sunsets in Perth. With stunning city views across the treetops, you can sit back on the park benches under the trees and watch the sky put on a show. A perfect end to a perfect day at Bushmead.
