Community sits at the heart of Bushmead, and our recent Walking Trails Opening Event perfectly captured the friendly and welcoming nature of the Bushmead community.
Residents and visitors came together on a Sunday morning to celebrate the extension of Bushmead’s much-loved walking trail network, adding even more opportunities to explore the 185 hectares of retained natural bushland that make the community truly unique.
The event began with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, lead by Herbert Bropho who welcomed event attendees to the land. Guests then joined a guided walk along a new section of the trail, taking in the natural beauty that surrounds Bushmead.
Following the walk, everyone gathered in the Archerfield Park to enjoy a relaxed morning of community fun, including a sausage sizzle, live music, and a creative craft workshop for all ages. Along the way, families also took part in Quenda’s Quiz, testing their local knowledge with questions about the Bushmead community and its surrounding environment.
Events like this highlight what makes Bushmead so special, a place where people come together to celebrate nature, connection, and the simple joy of being part of a close-knit, sustainable community.
