Plumpton Community Centre has officially opened at 19 Pear Parade, Fraser Rise, located just five minutes from Clara Place. This $17 million purpose-built facility delivers a wide range of services, programs and flexible spaces that cater to children, young families and the rapidly growing Melton community – bringing even more convenience, connection and amenity to life at Clara Place.

Education and health services for young families

One of the standout features of Plumpton Community Centre is the dedicated kindergarten program catering to three- and four‑year‑olds. With funded places now available, the centre welcomed its first Term One cohort in 2025, offering necessary access to early learning right near Clara Place. Additionally, parents can access onsite Maternal and Child Health services, including nurse consultations and parenting support, to help navigate those early years with confidence and assurance.1

Adaptable spaces for community needs

Beyond catering to early years needs, the centre boasts a variety of adaptable community spaces. Ideal for local groups, fitness classes, playgroups, workshops and casual gatherings, the venue caters for events of all kinds. Equipped with accessible parking, heating and cooling, kitchen facilities and multiple meeting rooms, this space can be utilised by the Clara Place community at their convenience.2

A timely investment in a booming region

Fraser Rise and Plumpton rank among Australia’s fastest-growing suburbs, recording more than 3,400 new residents in a single year and currently ranking fourth nationally with a 26% growth rate.3 The $17 million centre is a forward‑thinking response to this surge, jointly funded by Melton City Council and a $10.9 million contribution from the Victorian Government through the Growing Suburbs and Building Blocks Funds.3

City of Melton Mayor Cr Steve Abboushi noted that this facility is “an investment in what matters – giving our youngest residents the best possible start in life, supporting parents and carers, and creating a safe, welcoming space where people can connect, belong, and thrive.”

A new hub for Clara Place’s community

With vital early‑years services, flexible community spaces and strong council and government backing, the Plumpton Community Centre will provide a vital support facility to the Fraser Rise and Plumpton communities as they continue to grow.
