Ms Manchon says the pair are now much closer to their favourite tracks around South D'Aguilar National Park and Mount Nebo, with the bonus of having bushland and parks right at their doorstep.
She says she has also been able to exercise in the evenings more frequently, thanks to friendly neighbours who make her feel safe at home.
"We used to live in Keperra, and one of the reasons we moved to Ellendale was because all the bush tracks are much more accessible, and it's a community where I feel like I can be out exercising on my own at night," she said.
"Everyone is so lovely. Every time I go out for a walk or jog around the neighbourhood there are lots of people with dogs and prams, and everyone says hello.
"We also wanted a home where we could feel closer to nature, and here we found the perfect block overlooking bushland and close to Ellendale's community park and playground, which our son Raphael absolutely loves."
Ms Manchon says the move has set the family up for the next chapter of their lives.
"Our previous home was over 70 years old and was getting too small for our growing family. We looked around and realised we could get better value and a design that met our needs by building," she said.
"There really aren't many opportunities to buy land in a location like this - close to nature and local shops and schools, and still within easy reach of the city.
"When we found Ellendale we knew it was for us and are now loving our new life in our four bedroom abode by Plantation Homes."
