For Belinda, moving to Fletcher’s Slip is more than just a change of address. It’s a chance to let go of the stress that comes with maintaining a large home and embrace a lifestyle that simply makes more sense for where she’s at in life.

“I currently have a 3 bedroom home and I’m just finding being by myself it’s a lot to take on,” she says. “I don’t need 3 bedrooms.”

From lawn care to gutters and the endless list of weekend chores, Belinda was ready to trade in the upkeep for something smarter and simpler. Downsizing to an apartment at Fletcher’s Slip means she can finally ditch the mower and the whipper snipper.

“I’m definitely not a green thumb. I think I’ve only owned 2 plants in my whole life and I’ve still managed to kill them,” she laughs. “So to be able to move to an apartment without having to worry about that is such a relief.”

But it’s not just about less maintenance. It’s also about more connection. Fletcher’s Slip stood out to Belinda as a place where people take the time to stop and say hello. Community catch-ups and a friendly vibe made her feel like she’d found the right fit.

“I feel that it’s going to make my personal life thrive a little bit better,” she shares.

She’s also looking forward to making her apartment a place to entertain, something she’s never really had the space or setup to do before.

“Now with an apartment it’s just going to open up a lot more opportunities for me to invite my girlfriends over and have a cocktail night.”

Belinda’s eyes are also on the future. She’s excited to make memories with her grandkids in a neighbourhood that’s perfect for play, walks and sleepovers. And when it’s time for a holiday, she knows she can simply lock the door and go, no lawn to mow or bins to worry about.

“Having an apartment is going to alleviate a lot of that piece of mind really. It’s just easy, adaptable.”

At Fletcher’s Slip, Belinda has found more than a new home. She’s found freedom, peace of mind and a community she’s ready to be a part of.
