Stamp duty abolished for first home buyers
The State Budget has included a concession specifically designed for first home buyers; abolishing stamp duty on new build homes valued up to $650,000, or on vacant land up to $400,000. Eligible first-time buyers can take advantage of this relief when entering into contracts after 15 June 2023. Property value cap increased for First Home Owners Grant
The State Budget has retained the existing First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) at $15,000 and increased support for first home buyers by raising the property value cap from $575,000 to $650,000*.

Under the new concessions, eligible first home buyers who build or purchase a new home with a value of up to $650,000 will now receive up to $44,580* in total relief from the State Government. This includes almost $30,000 in stamp duty relief and a FHOG payment of $15,000. This is significant financial support for those looking to get their foot onto the property ladder.
