When communities are supported, they have more opportunities to grow, connect and thrive. That’s why the Cedar Woods Community Grants Program is returning to our Flourish community for a second year, offering $10,000 in funding to support local initiatives across Logan’s South.

The program is open to eligible community groups in the suburbs surrounding the Flourish masterplanned community in South Maclean.

Supporting the People Who Strengthen Our Communities

Community groups play a vital role in building strong, resilient neighbourhoods, creating opportunities for connection, inclusion and belonging well beyond the home.

Cedar Woods Chief Operating Officer Patrick Archer said Cedar Woods was proud to continue its commitment to giving back.

“Community groups are essential to building resilient and vibrant neighbourhoods, driving connection, inclusion and fostering a sense of belonging,” Mr Archer said. “We are proud to give back to these organisations operating in South Maclean and the surrounding areas for a second year.

“Across our Queensland communities, Flourish in South Maclean and Ellendale in Upper Kedron, we’ve supported schools, sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations with $105,000 to boost their programs and initiatives.

"We've seen the impact of the grants firsthand in this region, with last year’s Flourish grant recipients investing in equipment to facilitate animal rescues, the provision of additional support for mental health services and funding food hampers and fuel vouchers for people in need.”

Since 2009, Cedar Woods has awarded grants to more than 150 community groups nationwide, helping organisations deliver meaningful outcomes where they matter most.

Making a Real Difference Close to Home

The inaugural Flourish Community Grants Program in 2025 saw three Logan-based organisations share $10,000, with funding directed towards hands-on support for people, wildlife and families in need.

Logan Wildlife Association (LWA) President Chris Gauthier said receiving the Flourish Community Grant allowed the organisation to purchase vital equipment to rescue and rehabilitate local wildlife.

“This grant provides further avenues for our organisation to support the animals that come through our network, and we are grateful to Cedar Woods for this critical funding which allows us to continue and expand our work,” he said.

For Onwards & Upwards, also known as Flagstone Foodshare, the grant helped deliver immediate relief to people facing emergency situations.

“The generosity of Cedar Woods allows us to provide these items to those in need without the organisation absorbing the cost, so it’s a major relief for us too,” she said.

Applications Now Open

Applications for the latest round of funding are now open and will close on 20 March 2026, with successful grant recipients to be announced in early April.

Mr Archer said the program reflects Cedar Woods’ ongoing commitment to supporting communities as Flourish continues to grow.

“Giving back to our communities is at the core of the Cedar Woods’ philosophy, as our Flourish community continues to grow and we welcome more residents, we are committed to supporting local initiatives which create spaces for our residents to thrive beyond their front door.”

“We look forward to discovering more worthy grant recipients who assist us to enrich the lives of residents within and beyond our Flourish community through this year’s program.”

Schools and not-for-profit groups that have been operating for more than 12 months, including sporting and community organisations in South Maclean and surrounding areas, are encouraged to apply.
