First-home buyer Mitchell Thorneycroft is among the early purchasers in Cedar Wood’s masterplanned community Flourish, located in South Maclean within the Logan growth corridor.
Mitchell, who grew up in Logan, said he started looking to buy his first property in 2023 with a desire to build the perfect home for his four-year-old daughter.
“Like all parents, I want to give my daughter the best in life, and that includes a home and community she can be proud of,” Mitchell says.
“With that in mind, I began exploring different home options in southeast Queensland and came across Flourish when driving through South Maclean.
“I registered on the website soon after and met with the sales team to discuss the community’s masterplan and what kind of life me and my daughter could build here.
“When I was told about the plans for onsite childcare, playground, parklands, and the focus on owner-occupiers, it became very clear that Flourish was exactly the kind of community where I wanted to build my first home — and raise my daughter.
“Another factor that sealed the deal was Flourish’s great location. It is close to lots of great local amenities, parklands and is only about an 45mins to Brisbane an hour to the Gold Coast.
“Hearing about the expected growth and infrastructure plans for South Maclean also appealed to me and how that could have a positive impact on property values at Flourish.
“My advice for others considering starting their first-home buyer journey is that you will never know what you can get if you do not give it a go.
“The key thing is having the right support, which for me has been my broker and the Flourish sales team.
“I can’t wait to start my building journey soon, and when it’s complete, the next chapter of my life at Flourish with my little one,” he says.
