Greater Flagstone is one of South-East Queensland’s major long-term growth areas, with new homes, services, infrastructure and employment opportunities expected to support a growing population.
Economic Development Queensland says the 7,188-hectare Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area is expected to provide around 51,500 dwellings for a population of up to 138,000. The PDA is positioned between future employment precincts at North Maclean and Bromelton.
For communities in and around South Maclean, this wider growth provides an exciting backdrop for the future.
New opportunities taking shape close to home
One of the region’s most significant employment projects is already under construction at North Maclean.
In March 2026, Amazon announced it would invest more than $750 million in Queensland’s first Amazon Robotics fulfilment centre at Charter Hall’s Flagstone Logistics Estate.
Construction has commenced on the 150,000-square-metre facility, which is targeted for completion in 2028. Amazon expects the centre to create more than 1,000 jobs once fully operational, with a further 2,000 jobs during construction and fit-out.
It’s a significant investment in the local area and one example of the employment opportunities beginning to take shape as the wider region grows.
Community infrastructure is growing alongside it. Logan City Council opened the $8 million Flagstone Community Hub in August 2026, providing meeting and multipurpose spaces along with access to community services and activities.
Planning for future road infrastructure is also continuing, with Logan City Council progressing preliminary design work for the Goodna Road and New Beith Road upgrade. Completion of this design phase is targeted for late 2026, although funding for Stage 1 construction has not yet been secured.
Together, these projects provide a glimpse of how Greater Flagstone and Logan are evolving, with employment, services and infrastructure developing alongside new communities.
Looking at the bigger picture
For residents at Flourish, this growth is happening within the wider region they call home.
