The main community park at Glenside features a large multi-use grassed area for relaxation and recreation, playground, half-court basketball, a family picnic area with shelters and BBQ facilities.
Designed by leading landscape architects, the more than 15,000 sqm park also includes an exercise track around its’ perimeter, and a walking path creating a link across Greenhill Road into the adjacent Victoria Park and into the city.
The park includes thoughtfully designed play spaces for younger and older children around the treelined perimeter of the park, while new trees have been planted to provide additional shade and complement the mature trees around the park’s edge. Harriet Lucy Drive provides both access and parking for the park. The Glenside Community Park is the perfect place where kids can play freely, and adults can unwind and connect. This park has been designed to be a haven for relaxation and recreation.
On 8th May, prior to opening to the public, we celebrated and officially recognised the completion of the Glenside Park with an exclusive event for purchasers and stakeholders. The official ribbon cutting for the park was conducted by Nathan Blackburne of Cedar Woods, Hon. Vickie Chapman MP and Anne Monceaux - Mayor of Burnside. There was so much excitement as we enjoyed a day of family fun in the tree-lined space.
In addition, prior to the public opening, the students at local school, St Raphael's gave the new Glenside Park playground a test run. To hear what they had to say about the new equipment and what their favourite parts were see the video here.
The park officially opened to the public at the beginning of July.
