Exciting news for Harrisdale Green residents, with the release of the final concepts for the Harrisdale Green Sensory Park along Nobilis Street.
Backing onto the Harrisdale Nature Reserve, this thoughtfully designed park will pay particular attention to creating an all-abilities play area and entertaining space.
These sensory play elements use equipment and activities to stimulate all senses including sight, smell, taste, hearing, touch, vestibular and proprioception. The design ensures that each space within the park are accessible to children with a range of abilities.
Features you can experience include:
- Large kickabout area the whole family can enjoy.
- Shaded seating.
- A scooter track to zoom around and race friends.
- A maze with vertical elements, encouraging movement and body awareness.
- A range of tactile experiences including balancing logs, stepping logs, orbs.
- Talk tubes stationed at different ends of the park.
- Sensory Play Wall with a range of play panels with different learning and play opportunities.
Construction of the park is planned to take place in May, 2022 and is expected to be open to the public in Spring, 2022.
