A day in the life living in Mason Quarter

Written by Cedar Woods | 18 October 2022

Townhomes are packed with both style and convenience, offering a low-maintenance yet spacious solution for families big and small. Located in the heart of one of Melbourne’s fastest growing suburbs in the north, Wollert, Mason Quarter is well-positioned in close proximity to a range of amenities, green spaces and popular lifestyle destinations.

See what a typical day as a resident of Mason Quarter could look like!

7:30am – Rise and shine

It is Monday – the start of a fresh week – and you wake up bright and early and ready to conquer the day ahead. You hear the kids, Charlie aged 8 and Mia aged 12, stirring downstairs excited to see their friends at school.

Your husband comes in with coffees and a newspaper in hand, he’s an early riser and has just come back from taking your dog Alfie for his morning walk. After taking a few sips of your flat white, you turn on some music and head into your spacious ensuite to shower and get ready for the day. Luckily, the kids’ primary school is only 5 minutes away, so your morning routine never feels rushed.

Once you’re ready for the day, you go downstairs to find the kids finishing their toast at the spacious kitchen counter and raring to go – with your husband helping with the remnants of last night’s math homework. With easy access to the main roads both of your offices are a breezy commute away, so you all jump in the car for morning drop off’s – you relish the time to spend together as a family.

8:30am – School drop off

With little to no traffic in sight, you arrive for the school drop off 15 minutes early and chat with some of the parents about organising a carpool for this weekend’s soccer match. You and your husband say goodbye to the kids and head off to work, making sure to stop off at your favourite local café along the way to pick up more coffee and your favourite go-to bagels.

Your husband drops you off at your office and waves you goodbye – you’re also 10 minutes early for work and arrive stress-free, ready for your 9:30am meeting.

12pm – Your Monday ritual

To bring some fun to your Monday each week, you and some of your work friends have organised a lunchtime pilates session at Move Body Wellness studio, followed by lunch at a new local restaurant every week. When catching up on the news from your friends, your colleague Sally mentions that she feels like she spent the whole weekend in the car and didn’t have any time to relax and enjoy her time off.

You reminisce about the time you and your husband previously spent driving across the city and are so glad you made the move to Mason Quarter. Not only are you within minutes of your workplaces, the kids’ school, and all their extracurricular activities, your townhome is also the most spacious home you’ve lived in yet.

4:30pm – A quick stop before home

It’s been a long, but enjoyable day and you're excited to leave the office and head home for some family time. Your kids are having a playdate with your neighbours kids this afternoon, who also attend the same school, so you have some extra time for some admin tasks.

While you wait for your husband to pick you up, you write down the items you need to collect from the supermarket for tonight’s dinner. Chatting with your husband on the way to your local Coles, they mention that it looks like your oldest needs new school shoes - again! – and you decide to stop off at the nearby Pacific Epping shopping centre to pick up the shoes and groceries in one go.

You’re in and out in under an hour, shoes, and groceries in hand, and you make the 15-minute drive to your neighbour’s house to pick up the kids just in time for dinner!

6:00pm – Dinner time

When you walk in the door, your children immediately start playing with Alfie until you remind them that it’s time to help with dinner!

Sitting around the table enjoying a delicious meal, you listen to your children chatter about their days while reflecting on how lucky you feel that they are a part of a homely and friendly community.

7:30pm – Winding down with family

Once everyone has finished their dinner and you have all helped to clean up, your husband takes your eldest out to burn off some energy before bed, taking Alfie with them. They say they’ll be quick, but you know that they’ll get distracted while investigating the nearby wetland reserve!

While they’re out exploring, Charlie asks if he can go with some of his friends to the movies on the weekend. It’s the same time as Mia’s soccer game so you have a quick chat with some of the other parents and make arrangements for Charlie to get a lift with one of his friends, securing yourself some free time!

9pm – Time to relax

After some excellent teamwork by you and your husband, the kids are finally in bed and asleep and you tiptoe upstairs to take some time to yourselves. You hop online and book yourself a well-deserved massage for the weekend, your newly acquired free time is the perfect opportunity to take some ‘me time’!

It’s a mild night so you head out onto the porch and cosy up on your outdoor couch. You relax and enjoy each other’s company, thankful to be surrounded by everything that your family wants and needs.
