As our Mason Quarter development continues to grow, so does our community. With the start of term 1 for the new year just around the corner, we thought to share a snapshot of the educational facilities on offer in the area for our residents - from early childhood education right through to universities.
Early childhood education
Families in the Mason Quarter area are spoiled for choice when it comes to early childhood education options!
Within a 5km radius, there are 7 fantastic centres to choose from. Kids First Australia operates Ganbu Gulinj Kindergarten and Korin Korin Child and Family Centre, just 5 minutes away, providing a supportive, community-based environment for 3-4-year-olds.
Families with younger children will also find great options close by, like Rose Garden Epping Early Learning Centre and First Grammar Epping, both under 10 minutes from Mason Quarter and offering extended hours for 6-week to 6-year-olds.
And the good news continues! As part of the $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reform, a brand new kindergarten and long day care centre is coming to the Mason Quarter community by Q1 2026. Located at Wollert Andrews Road Primary School, it will offer long day care, 3- and 4-year-old kinder, and community spaces.
This is an exciting investment for the growing Wollert area. Even better, the 4-year-old kinder program will transition to Pre-Prep from 2034, with free hours doubling to 30 per week for 4-year-olds and tripling to 15 per week for 3-year-olds by 2036.
Primary Schools
The growing Mason Quarter community is well-equipped to meet the educational needs of its residents. Edgars Creek Primary School, which opened in 2021 with 400 students and has since expanded to 650, offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on core subjects like numeracy, literacy, science, and the arts.
Wollert Primary School, opened in 2022, is the second supported inclusion school in Melbourne’s northern suburbs and has been specially designed with additional support for students with disabilities, including sensory areas, inclusive learning spaces, and accessible play spaces.
The area's educational offerings will further expand with the upcoming Mason Quarter Andrews Road P-6 Primary School, scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. Funded in the 2024-25 Victorian budget, this new 525-student school will help meet the demand from the growing local population and ease the pressure on surrounding institutions.
These diverse educational options demonstrate Mason Quarter's commitment to providing high-quality learning opportunities for children of all ages and abilities as the community continues to evolve.
Secondary Schools
Established in 2018, Edgars Creek Secondary College has quickly become a central part of the local community. The college caters to a wide range of interests and encourages curiosity with its state-of-the-art STEM building, expansive sports oval, and new performing arts facility.
Nearby, Merriang Special Development School provides a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for students with disabilities, with on-staff therapists to support their growth.
Wollert Secondary College, which opened in 2023, is helping to address the growing local population's need for quality education close to home. The college is committed to empowering, preparing, and equipping students with the skills to seize opportunities and overcome challenges in their lives beyond school. Its engaging curriculum is complemented by excellence programs, clubs, leadership initiatives, and more, ensuring a well-rounded education.
Higher Education
Whether it’s time to send your oldest off to uni or you’re thinking about gaining some additional knowledge or qualifications for yourself, Mason Quarter is in close proximity to some of Australia’s leading higher-educational providers.
Just 7 km of out Wollert, Melbourne Polytechnic Epping focuses on specialised courses to get you career-ready, including agriculture and land management, veterinary nursing, interior design, civil engineering, and electrotechnology.
