Mason Quarter primary school site secures Government funding

Written by Cedar Woods | 15 May 2024

Cedar Woods is excited to announce that funding for the future primary school located within the heart of Mason Quarter has taken another step, with the Victorian government confirming funding in the recently announced 2024-25 Budget with a forecast completion of the school in Q1 2026.

The school, Wollert Andrews Road P-6 Primary School, will have places for up to 525 students and will help meet increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. It will ease pressure on surrounding schools and help local students get high-quality education close to home.

In recognition of the important role that education plays in supporting growing communities, Cedar Woods worked collaboratively with the State Government to facilitate early delivery of a school in Mason Quarter.

With government funding now secured, the primary school can progress to the next stages of design and construction.

“The confirmation of state funding for Wollert Andrews Road P-6 Primary School is a tremendous win for our community” says Ryan Beer, Project Director at Cedar Woods. “We are another step closer to making sure families in Mason Quarter are able to receive quality education for their children close to home.”

“Investing in educational infrastructure is a cornerstone of our commitment to building sustainable, livable communities that foster growth and connectivity,” he added.

The establishment of Wollert Andrews Road P-6 Primary School will be the first step in delivering a sports and education precinct for Mason Quarter, as the school will be next to a range of other future community facilities - including two football ovals, tennis courts, a sporting pavilion, and a Council community centre.

Initial road construction works are slated to conclude in mid-2024  while the development of the school is forecast to be completed in Q1 2026, providing a state-of-the-art educational facility for the growing community.
