The Rivergums celebrates 18 years!

18 years of Rivergums

As one of the first neighbourhoods to be built in the Baldivis area, The Rivergums has grown in size and popularity over the years, while never losing its sense of charm.

This month, the leafy green community celebrates its 18th anniversary of launching Stage 1, solidifying its strong position in the community. During this time, Cedar Woods has constructed over 10 stages of the development and sold over 1,130 blocks. The estate is approximately 80% sold, with 5 stages still to be developed.

Rapid growth in recent years has seen the semi-rural suburb of Baldivis become one of the most sought-after property locations south of the river. With so many families interested in joining this growing suburb, it has positioned The Rivergums as a smart investment decision for many West Australians who wish to call the estate home.

Over the past 18 years, the estate and community have evolved together. Cedar Woods has contributed to the construction of various community amenities in the area including Rivergums Primary School, Baldivis Secondary College and Monsters World Adventure Park as well as an early learning centre and basketball court. Additionally, the property developer has made nature a key focus, with the creation of over ten hectares of lakes, playgrounds and expansive public open spaces.

Nature has always been an important element for Cedar Woods and continues to be prevalent across its estates. Back in 2003, special attention was given to the rehabilitation of the wetlands as well as the protection of seven species of frog living in The Rivergums estate. Cedar Woods hosted a community event where residents were invited to explore the surrounding flora and fauna at dusk and mingle with their soon-to-be neighbours.

At this stage, only 40 people were residing in the estate, now more than 1,000 families call The Rivergums home. To this day, Cedar Woods continues to host community events where residents can build life-long friendships and form a connection with their local surroundings.

Cedar Woods WA State Manager, Ben Rosser said the longevity of this development is a testament to the dedicated team and their commitment to the community, especially The Rivergums Estate Sales Manager, Tony Buzzai, who has personally been involved with the estate for over 15 years.

“It’s rare to see one development continue to prosper and expand over such a long period. The Rivergums was one of the first neighbourhoods in the area and is now a community bursting with activity,” he said.

“We’re proud to have been a leader in the development of the Baldivis community. Through our Neighbourhood Grants program, we have awarded more than $35,000 in grants to local Baldivis groups and organisations over the past few years. Through these grants, we’ve been able to invest in the future of the area and ensure continued longevity for the community.”

The Rivergums has donated to the likes of; Baldivis Little Athletics, Baldivis Children’s Forest, Peel Group Riding for the Disabled, Staffy and Bully Breed Rescue, Warnbro Community & Family Centre, Youth on Fire WA and Baldivis Secondary College P&C. Additionally, The Rivergums provides support to local basketball team, Rockingham Flames, through an ongoing partnership.

The Rivergums is an award-winning residential development, having taken out the top spot at many awards over the years including the 2005 UDIA WA Water Sensitive Urban Development Award, 2014 HIA WA GreenSmart Awards for Display Home of the Year & Energy Efficient Home and was a finalist at the 2020 UDIA WA Awards for Excellence for Masterplanned Development.
