Six New Amenities Coming to Moreton Bay

Moreton Bay is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and it’s not hard to see why with multiple new and exciting amenities underway or in the pipeline.

The region’s population is anticipated to surpass 700,000 residents by 2040, a nearly 50 per cent increase, with new amenities to support the growing population ranging from new shopping centres through to schools, education hubs and recreational facilities.

Below we outline six new amenities in the works for Moreton Bay, which residents at our new Sage community in Burpengary will be able to enjoy at their doorstep.

Narangba Heights Shopping Centre

Plans are afoot for a new shopping centre in Narangba, just a short drive from Sage.

The Narangba Heights Shopping Centre is earmarked for the corner of Oakey Flat Road and Sovereign Drive in Narangba, with the first stage of the Centre approved and set to feature a full-line Coles supermarket, service station, specialty retail, food and commercial spaces.

Morayfield Marketplace

The Morayfield Marketplace, located on Oakey Flat Road in Morayfield, includes a Coles supermarket, specialty stores, services, medical, childcare, dining, a gym, and service station.

The new centre will add to Morayfield’s growing offering, which includes Morayfield Shopping Centre and Morayfield Super Centre, featuring the likes of the Good Guys, Spotlight, Officeworks, Amart and Nick Scali to name just a few.

Caboolture Region

The City of Moreton Bay has announced work is due to start at the end of 2023 on a new one-of-a-kind nature themed adventure playground at the much-loved Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC).

The expanded playground will include custom play equipment and nature-based features to draw in visitors from across Moreton Bay and the wider region.

The playground is phase one of a plan that also includes future updates to the CREEC and its amenities, including construction of a new picnic hub with tables, seats, and shelters.

Scarborough Boat Harbour

For boating enthusiasts, the Scarborough Boat Harbour in Redcliffe is only a 30-minute drive away and features dry standings and wet berths in addition to two public boat ramps.

The Queensland Government has announced that it is creating a new master plan for the Harbour to establish a fresh long-term vision that continues to provide safe and efficient access to Queensland waters for recreational and commercial vessels.

The Mill at Moreton Bay

This massive multi-billion-dollar project envisions the emergence of a sustainable-integrated landmark destination for future residents, businesses, and industries as well as academics, researchers and visitors.

The Mill at Moreton Bay is already home to the University of Sunshine Coast (USC) Moreton Bay campus, which opened in 2020 with future plans including a major hospital and integrated health village at the precinct.

New Moreton Bay Hotel

Exciting plans have been filed for a new eight-level hotel with 142 rooms in Redcliffe.

The hotel is intended to provide much needed short-term accommodation in the region as well as supporting growing tourism numbers leading up to the 2032 Olympic Games.

Future Looks Bright for Moreton Region

There is an exciting future ahead for the region, from health and education precincts through to new shopping centres, hotels and boating facilities.

Planning is underway for a new state school at Burpengary East and the State Government earlier this year announced a new ambulance station for Morayfield to expand paramedic services in the region.

These new amenities add to the extensive lifestyle, service, and convenience offerings already available for our Sage residents, including established shopping centres such as Burpengary Plaza and Westfield North Lakes, public and private schools, easy access to the M1, and two train stations within six minutes’ drive.
