Strong demand for Cedar Woods’ new Corio community, Somerley, sees releases 1 & 2 sell out

ASX-listed Cedar Woods Properties has confirmed that land releases 1 and 2 at Somerley, a new masterplanned community in Corio, have sold out, underscoring strong buyer demand for well-connected housing in Geelong’s north.

The rapid uptake reflects buyer belief in Somerley’s location, masterplan and long-term liveability, with strong interest from first-home buyers, local workers and downsizers seeking access to established amenity and transport at an attainable price point.

Located just 9.4 kilometres from the Geelong CBD, Somerley has been positioned to meet growing demand for housing that balances affordability with connectivity to employment hubs, education, retail and regional transport links. Early sales momentum signals clear demand not only in the project, but in Corio’s continued evolution as one of Greater Geelong’s most accessible residential markets.

“It’s a peaceful area with a great sense of community, and that’s what attracted us straight away,” said Gurtej, an early buyer upsizing from Lovely Banks planning to move to Somerley with their family.

“There’s a real mix of cultures and a strong feeling of respect between people. Everything is within a short drive, and access to the freeway makes day-to-day life easy. We’re really excited about what’s planned and love being part of this area.”

The early sales momentum also strengthens the delivery of future amenity, including public spaces and the planned Central Park, supporting the organic development of a connected neighbourhood from its earliest stages.

The successful launch of the community’s initial stages is a strong start to Cedar Woods’ entry into the Geelong market and reinforces confidence in the area as a key residential growth market driven by employment momentum, improving infrastructure and sustained housing demand.
