We sat down with Kennedy Weldemariam founder and managing director of Kennedy Tax & Business Services to talk about his career and moving his business to Williams Landing.

Can you tell us a little bit about your business and its background?
I migrated to Australia in 2003 from Africa and worked in different areas across Australia including the Northern Territory for 6 years, most of my engagements were with corporate businesses. I started my own firm in 2010, based in Footscray. I found Williams Landing vibrant and very impressive, with convenient access to the freeway and overall western Melbourne. In 2020 we purchased an office in Williams Landing and relocated the company.

How long have you been operating out of Williams Landing?
4 Years

Can you describe a typical day in your business?
Most days I have a very busy schedule, I work four days from our Williams Landing Business Centre and one day in Footscray but the view from my office and the walking areas in Williams Landing makes my day fresh.

How has your business evolved since you first opened?
We have grown significantly over the past 14 years, particularly gaining more clients in the West since moving to Williams Landing

What are your best-selling products or most popular services?
We provide tax, accounting and business advisory.

How has the community of WL supported your businesses?
It’s very supportive partially being located in the business hub we are able to connect and speak with other businesses on a daily basis.

What is the most rewarding aspect of running your business?
Helping the local community and watching businesses grow and thrive through our advisory services.

Has Williams Landing influenced certain aspects of your business?
Yes, the central location in Williams Landing has helped us grow our business clients.

What plans or upcoming events do you have for your business?
We are continuing to grow our team and services and have recently purchased the office next door to accommodate this growth.
