Eglinton Village is proud to announce the recipients of the 2026 Cedar Woods Community Grants, supporting local clubs, initiatives and residents who are helping to strengthen and enrich our growing community.
Since 2009, more than $600,000 has been donated nationally as part of Cedar Woods’ Community Grants Program, aiding community groups and not-for-profits in funding programs and initiatives they might not have otherwise afforded.
We congratulate this year’s recipients and look forward to seeing the positive impact across the community in the year to come.
Alkimos FC
A valued part of the local sporting landscape, Alkimos FC has been supporting young athletes over the last five years. As the only soccer club in the local area, based right here in Eglinton, the club provides valuable opportunities for young people to engage in healthy, team-oriented activities that foster community spirit and camaraderie.
The 2026 community grant will assist Alkimos FC in purchasing new soccer goals, supporting the continued growth of the club and enhancing the experience for its players.
Butler Little Athletics Club
Butler Little Athletics Club plays a vital role across the Butler, Alkimos and Eglinton communities, offering a safe and inclusive environment for children to build athletic skills, confidence and healthy habits. Established in 2008/09, Butler Little Athletics is more than a sports club; it’s a hub of connection, teamwork and opportunity, making a significant impact on local families.
Grant funding will go towards the purchase of a marquee, providing much-needed shelter and comfort for athletes, families and volunteers during weekly competitions.
Sandra – Eglinton Village Resident
Congratulations to local resident, Sandra, who has been awarded a grant to deliver a Community Wellbeing Series for Eglinton Village residents. The series will include a high-energy Club Fiesta class, yoga sessions focused on flexibility and mindfulness, and personal training sessions aimed at building strength and overall fitness.
Together, these activities will support physical and mental wellbeing and create opportunities for residents to connect, stay active and enjoy a welcoming, community-focused environment.
