Cedar Woods supports Victorian communities with 2025 program

CEDARW~3

ASX-listed developer Cedar Woods has announced the Victorian recipients of its national Community Grants program, an initiative led by the developer to support the communities in which it actively develops.

Established in 2009, the Cedar Woods Community Grants program provides vital funding to local groups, organisations, and small businesses, helping to foster growth and sustainability within these communities.

In Victoria this year, thirteen recipients have been selected, with these grants going towards organisations that further the development and success of the City of Whittlesea, home to Mason Quarter, and the City of Wyndham, home to Williams Landing. The record number of applications highlights the lasting impact of these grants on the community, inspiring more people to apply each year.

Among this year's recipients is the Truganina South Primary School Community, a local hub that connects parents, carers, and the wider community through diverse programs and activities. Their grant will fund new sewing machines, craft materials, and outdoor gardening equipment to support programs specifically designed for migrant and refugee women, empowering participants while fostering community connections.

In Melbourne’s North, Wollert CFA received a grant to help fund a new fire station, that will be better equipped and located within the community to meet the modern needs of local firefighters.

The Wollert Community Farm will receive a grant to support the establishment of a volunteer group. This includes purchasing a potting bench, nursery equipment, and a catering budget for the volunteers. The farm’s social enterprises will develop goods and services that support local communities, businesses and industry.

Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager, James Bovell, emphasises that the Community Grants Program remains a cornerstone of Cedar Woods’ commitment to fostering thriving communities by supporting the diverse groups that contribute to the success of its developments.

“At Cedar Woods, we are dedicated to investing in the communities where we operate, and it is a privilege to support local organisations through our Community Grants Program. These groups are essential to the fabric of their communities, and we are proud to help strengthen their social and cultural impact.”

“After receiving a record number of applications this year it is a great reminder of the lasting effect these grants have on the communities. It is incredibly rewarding to champion the meaningful work these organisations do and to contribute to their positive influence on the community,” says Mr. Bovell

Since the program’s launch in 2009, more than $500,000 has been donated nationally to community groups and not-for-profits nationwide, aiding local communities to fund programs and initiatives and make critical purchases that they would not otherwise have been able to afford.
