Cedar Woods reaches structural completion of fifth standalone office in Williams Landing development

Cedar Woods has recently celebrated the topping out of Boston Commons, the fifth stand-alone office building in its Williams Landing development in Melbourne’s west.

Alongside project partner Hacer Group the Cedar Woods team celebrated the occasion with the traditional placing of an olive tree on top of the building, representing the placement of the final beam and the structural completion of Boston Commons.

According to Cedar Woods' Victorian State Manager James Bovell, this ceremony marks a significant milestone for both the Boston Commons project and the broader Williams Landing community:

“While the topping out of Boston Commons marks the structural completion of the building, this achievement is also a testament to the continued growth and strength of the Williams Landing community, with the building now 100% sold.  It has been incredible to see this project receive such a positive response, and we look forward to welcoming a wide range of new businesses to the Williams Landing community when Boston Commons opens in 2024.”

Launched in October 2021, Boston Commons received strong interest from local business owners and investors alike, with construction of the building being brought forward from its original timeframe in response.

Designed by renowned architects Hames Sharley, the seven-storey building is set to house 77 strata office suites ranging in size from 45-96sqm, five ground floor retail suites, and two conference centres. All occupants will benefit from comprehensive in-house amenities, including secure on-site parking and end-of-trip facilities.

Boston Commons will also bring several community-firsts to Williams Landing, including expansive terraces on level 3 suites and a material colour palette inspired by Melbourne’s inner-city architecture.

The construction of Boston Commons adds to Williams Landing’s existing commercial buildings - the Target Australia Headquarters located at 2 Kendall Street, 107 Overton Road, 101 Overton Road, and 111 Overton Road.

The official topping out ceremony took place on Monday 11 September, with Cedar Woods’ Victorian Development Director James Bovell, builder partner Hacer Group’s Director Paul Toleman, and the project team in attendance.

Fit out works have recently commenced on the building, with construction slated for completion in Q2 2024.
