Can you tell us a little bit about your business and its background?
Founded in 2016 in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, our firm brings extensive expertise from the Corporate Insurance Broking sector. With a strong commitment to delivering high standards of service and negotiation power, we aim to provide small to medium-sized businesses with the same advantages traditionally reserved for larger corporations.

As a General Insurance Brokerage and Risk Management Consulting firm, we work with a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to multinational companies. Our client portfolio spans various industries, including trades, hospitality, and high-risk manufacturing, with annual turnovers ranging from $50K to $300M.

We specialise in securing comprehensive insurance coverage at competitive rates while providing expert guidance in risk management. Our goal is to ensure that businesses are not only well-protected but also well-prepared to navigate potential risks effectively.

How long have you been operating out of Williams Landing and what inspired you to move or start your business here?
GIS was officially registered in Williams Landing in 2018, with a presence in other regions as well. We relocated our local office from Werribee to Williams Landing to better support local businesses in Wyndham. Williams Landing offers modern amenities, excellent public transport connectivity, and freeway access, positioning it as a promising Finance Hub for Melbourne’s Western and North-Western suburbs.

Can you describe a typical day in your business?
Our clients are our top priority. Each day begins with addressing client queries, supporting them with renewals, claims, and risk management controls. We have a dedicated team to manage complex claims, new client inquiries, challenging accounts, as well as administration and digital marketing tasks.

How has your business evolved since you first opened?
We have welcomed experienced professionals to our team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our organisation. We are also committed to providing ongoing training opportunities for our staff to ensure compliance and foster innovation for our clients.

Our business has grown at a steady pace, maintaining high service standards while expanding our clientele at a healthy rate. We were honoured to be named among the top 20 Rising Stars by Insurance Magazine Australia, and we look forward to announcing another achievement with our stakeholders in November. We are deeply grateful for the trust and support of our clients.

What are your most popular services?
As a General Insurance broker, we manage over 50 different insurance products. Our core offerings include Business Package Insurance, Professional Indemnity, Cyber Insurance, Liability, Commercial Motor, Fleet, and Management Liability Insurance.

How has the community of WL supported your businesses?
Several of our clients and referral partners are located in Williams Landing, and their trust and support have been instrumental in our growth through client referrals. We also actively support the local community by shopping in Williams Landing and meeting clients at local cafés whenever possible, fostering a strong connection to the area.

What is the most rewarding aspect of running your business?
The most rewarding aspect of our work is delivering tailored solutions for our clients, whether they are in the startup phase needing coverage for an innovative product or when we successfully negotiate favourable outcomes on complex claims.

What future plans or upcoming events do you have for your business?
We are planning to expand our presence in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. Our goal is to increase community involvement and support various local organisations. Additionally, we will be conducting Risk Management and Insurance presentations on Insurance Essentials for Commercial Real Estate.
