Since 2009, more than $600,000 has been donated nationally as part of Cedar Woods’ Community Grants program, aiding community groups and not-for-profits in funding programs and initiatives they would not have otherwise afforded.
The aim of the program is to support the local communities where our developments are located allowing the communities to grow alongside the developments, benefitting the existing and new local residents.
Congratulations to the 2025 Bushmead Community Grant recipients! We look forward to seeing the impact of their initiatives on the tight-knit Bushmead community.
1. Bushmead Conservation Cobbers (BCC)The conservation of the 185 hectares of retained bushland that surrounds Bushmead remains a priority for the Bushmead community, and the Bushmead Conservation Cobbers (BCC) are leading the charge. With their grant, BCC will continue their efforts in environmental stewardship by hosting a variety of conservation-related events.
The funding will cover the costs of supplies such as tools for bushcare and weeding, as well as materials for planting events and community cleanups. BCC also plans to organise community morning teas to bring the community together and share the successes of their collective efforts.
2. Bushmead Social
Bushmead Social is set to continue bringing the community together in 2025. The Community Grants funding will support a number of community events throughout the year, such as twilight markets and movie nights.
After a successful inaugural year of events in 2024, the team at Bushmead Social is excited to host more opportunities for neighbours to gather, connect, and enjoy shared experiences. Whether it’s enjoying the festive cheer of the holiday season or gathering for a relaxed movie night under the stars, these events contribute significantly to building community spirit and connection at Bushmead.
3. Friends of Archerfield Park
Friends of Archerfield Park continues its great work in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of Archerfield Park. With previous funding already helping them achieve good things, this additional grant will be used to purchase further gardening tools, plant guards, stakes, and other supplies that support the park's upkeep.
4. Bushmead Community Inc (BCI)
The recently incorporated, Bushmead Community Inc will use its grant to create a community-focused website that serves as a centralised hub for Bushmead residents.
The new website will feature an event calendar, updates about local activities, and information on community groups and services. The platform will provide a valuable communication tool, especially for those who may not be on social media, ensuring that every resident has access to key community information.
Cedar Woods are proud to support these great resident-led initiatives in Bushmead. If you aren’t already, we encourage you to get involved in the Bushmead community and support the recipients in their efforts.
