From junior footballers and talented musicians to students pursuing their education, the latest Ellendale Community Grant is helping local organisations continue making a meaningful difference across Brisbane's north-west.
As a thriving masterplanned community in Upper Kedron, Ellendale by Cedar Woods is about more than creating beautiful homes surrounded by nature. It's about fostering genuine community connections and supporting the people and organisations that help local families thrive.
This year, four local not-for-profit organisations have shared in $10,000 through the Cedar Woods Community Grant program, providing funding for projects that promote inclusion, wellbeing, education and active lifestyles throughout the region.
Supporting a stronger Ellendale Brisbane community
Home to more than 590 families, Ellendale has continued to grow into a vibrant and connected neighbourhood where community is at the heart of everyday life.
Cedar Woods Chief Operating Officer Patrick Archer said the Community Grants program reflects the company's long-term commitment to creating places where people can truly belong.
"We're backing local groups who bring people together and enrich everyday life," Mr Archer said.
"From junior footballers and emerging musicians to school students in need, these initiatives help foster a strong sense of belonging for our residents and the wider community."
The Ellendale Community Grant is part of Cedar Woods' national community investment program, supporting organisations that make a lasting positive impact within the communities where people live.
Investing in local organisations making a difference
This year's successful recipients represent a diverse range of organisations helping residents connect, stay active and access new opportunities.
Topology Inc.
Creative arts organisation Topology Inc. received $1,000 to purchase a portable digital screen for its Creative Hub in The Gap, enhancing performances, workshops and community events.
Creative Director Christa Powell said the new equipment will support both local musicians and the many community groups who regularly use the space.
The Creative Hub hosts initiatives including Metal Choir for new parents and Song Club for older musicians, alongside health and wellbeing programs, exhibitions and community information sessions.
"We're absolutely blown away and appreciative that Cedar Woods is contributing to this and are excited about what this screen will allow us and our community to achieve," Ms Powell said.
Ferny Grove Falcons AFC
The Ferny Grove Falcons Australian Rules Football Club received $2,000 to replace ageing goal post padding and purchase new portable goals for its growing junior football program.
Vice President Chantelle Johnson said the funding will help the club continue providing a safe, welcoming environment for its approximately 300 players across junior, youth, senior and masters teams.
"Our portable goal posts and pads are getting worn, and the Ellendale Community Grants funding will allow us to continue to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all our players," Ms Johnson said.
"Without the support of Cedar Woods and Ellendale, we would struggle to find the funds to purchase this new equipment."
Westside Grovely Football Club
Westside Grovely Football Club will receive $2,000 to purchase three portable gazebos, providing much-needed shade for junior players, families, volunteers, coaches and spectators during weekly matches and training sessions.
St Vincent de Paul Society
The St Vincent de Paul Society – St John Wood The Gap Conference has been awarded $5,000 to purchase laptops for disadvantaged children and young people, helping improve access to education and future opportunities.
Building more than homes at Ellendale Upper Kedron
Since its launch, Ellendale Upper Kedron has been thoughtfully designed to create a lifestyle where nature, neighbourhood and community come together.
Surrounded by the South D'Aguilar National Park and featuring extensive parklands, walking trails and green spaces, Ellendale offers residents opportunities to connect, not only with nature, but with each other. This emphasis on creating meaningful places where people belong is central to the Ellendale vision.
Mr Archer said the Community Grants program is another way Cedar Woods continues to invest in creating vibrant, sustainable communities.
"Ellendale is deeply connected with the wider Ferny Grove and Upper Kedron area, and we're proud to deliver communities where residents can come together and enjoy life immersed in nature," he said.

In total, Cedar Woods has awarded $135,000 in grants to more than 60 community organisations surrounding Ellendale and its Flourish community in South Maclean, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to strengthening local neighbourhoods beyond the homes themselves.
