Local sports, educational and community groups can grab their share of $10,000 of funding through the Cedar Woods Ellendale Community Grants program, an initiative that gives-back to organisations making a positive difference in Upper Kedron and surrounding suburbs.
Applications will open on 30 April 2024 for all groups, organisations and initiatives that benefit the community or provide enjoyment and foster connections between residents.
Grants are available to schools, and not-for-profit groups including sports and community organisations in the region spanning Upper Kedron, Ferny Grove, The Gap, Arana Hills, Keperra, Ferny Hills, Everton Hills and Mitchelton.
The grants are funded by Cedar Woods Properties, who are developing the Ellendale masterplanned residential community in Upper Kedron.
Cedar Woods Development Director Blair Britton said community organisations are the foundations of healthy neighbourhoods.
“We understand developing a vibrant community and building lasting connections can take a range of forms, from cultural experiences, sports gear, welfare, educational facilities, environmental efforts and recreational events,” he said.
“All of these things require funding, which is becoming harder and harder to secure.
“Our Community Grants are designed to help with essential costs to provide valuable services to our community.
“It’s our way of showing our appreciation for the valuable work these organisations do in creating community connections while providing support and lasting memories for local residents.”
Cedar Woods has been running its Community Grants program nationally for more than a decade, investing in the communities in which it operates around Australia.
Applications for the Ellendale Community Grants will close on 3 June 2024, Successful organisations will share in $10,000, with winners announced in mid-June. To be eligible, not-for-profit groups need to have been in operation for at least 12 months.
