At Sage, we believe that living in harmony with nature is essential for a balanced, fulfilling life.
Nestled within the vibrant Moreton Bay Region, our masterplanned community has been thoughtfully designed to honour the local environment and support the unique flora and fauna that call this area home.
A Green Heart for Sage’s Community
The development of Sage has been guided by a strong environmental ethos, ensuring that the impact on local ecosystems is minimised and, where possible, enhanced. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have undertaken extensive rehabilitation efforts to restore and expand native plantings. Over 30% of the Sage community total area is dedicated to green space, with the ecological corridor acting as a central spine that connects residents to nature.
As you stroll along the paths, you might spot some of the more than 200 nesting boxes carefully installed throughout the corridor. These homes are part of our broader effort to support local species, providing safe nesting and roosting spots for birds, gliders, and other small native animals.
We wanted to create a place where families can grow alongside nature, where children hear the calls of birds from their bedrooms and spot native fauna and flora in their community.
Supporting Wildlife: What Sage Residents Can Do
Choosing to live at Sage means embracing a lifestyle that respects the environment and coexists with wildlife. As a resident, here’s how you can make a positive impact on our shared environment:
- Create Wildlife-Friendly Gardens
Consider incorporating native plants into your garden design to attract native birds, butterflies, and insects. For inspiration on what native plants you can include in your garden, please review the Sage Design Standards, or contact your builder to organise a consult with their preferred landscape architect.
- Be Pet-Smart
Keep cats indoors, particularly at night, and consider building a cat enclosure to keep them and the local wildlife safe. Make sure dogs are secured in your yard and don’t wander into the bushland, which could disturb nesting sites.
- Drive Safely Through the Community
Slow down when driving around Sage, especially in areas close to the green corridor. Many native animals are more active at dawn and dusk, and extra caution will help reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.
Learn More and Get Involved
For those looking to deepen their engagement with Sage’s natural spaces, join one of the local community-led Bushcare groups or explore the Caboolture Environmental Education Centre (CREEC) just a short drive away. Their team offers educational programs and volunteer opportunities that provide a deeper understanding of the local ecosystem and how we can protect it for generations to come.
Embrace Sage’s natural surroundings, live every moment with nature, and experience Inspired family living, where every day brings the chance to connect more deeply with the world around you. Welcome to Sage—a place where nature and community thrive together.
