A case study into building brighter futures through The Smith Family

At Cedar Woods, we know that education is a powerful tool for creating opportunities and breaking cycles of disadvantage. That’s why we’ve partnered with The Smith Family, a national Australian charity dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through education.

Why Education Matters

For many children from low-income families, educational success can feel out of reach. The Smith Family works to bridge this gap by providing tailored, long-term support to help students stay in school, complete their studies, and transition to meaningful employment. This mission aligns closely with Cedar Woods’ commitment to building thriving, inclusive communities.

Our Commitment to Students

Over the past four years, Cedar Woods has supported many students through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program.

Through this program, students receive the essentials they need to succeed, whether it’s school supplies, career advice, or guidance on navigating life’s challenges. More importantly, they gain the confidence to set higher goals and the motivation to achieve them.

Engaging Our Team on the Journey

Our partnership with The Smith Family extends beyond financial contributions. We’ve created opportunities for our team to engage directly with students and their families:

  • Fitness for a Cause: The Dream Run encourages our team to stay active while raising funds to support educational programs.
  • Career Inspiration: Staff visit local schools to share their professional journeys and spark students’ interest in a wide range of careers through the Career Talk program.
  • On-Site Learning: Through The Smith Family’s Work Inspiration program, students experience a day in the life at Cedar Woods, exploring career opportunities in property development and beyond.

These initiatives not only deepen our connection to The Smith Family but also strengthens our workplace culture.

Aligning with Our Values

As a company, Cedar Woods is guided by a commitment to social responsibility and long-term community development. Supporting education is one way we put these values into action, contributing to a future where every young Australian has the opportunity to reach their potential.

Looking to the Future

Cedar Woods’ partnership with The Smith Family represents more than just a sponsorship—it’s an investment in the next generation. By empowering students to overcome barriers and achieve their goals, we’re helping to build a brighter, more equitable future for all.
