First Solaris park now open

First Solaris park now open

Residents at Cedar Woods’ Solaris Private Estate in Forrestdale came together over the weekend to attend the opening of the first local park in the community, officially naming it Clydesdale Gardens following a public vote.

The estate’s purchasers were given the opportunity to make their mark with official naming rights, adding a personal touch to the community-oriented estate. The move comes as Solaris reaches the 50% sold mark after launching in 2020, with the first residents officially moving in in recent months.

Solaris' first public open space is complete with nature play structures, BBQ facilities, picnic tables and grassed kickabout area, creating a space for the community to connect as the weather warms.

Cedar Woods put forward two park names for the community to vote on, Shetland Green and Clydesdale Gardens. These were chosen as an extension of the estate’s road names, which follow a horse breed theme inspired by the estate’s history.

The chosen name is symbolic of Forrestdale’s rich history and link to the equine community, with large stables and paddocks having previously occupied the area. The area still has strong links to the equine industry, with many stables, vets, riding schools and studs located nearby, and now Clydesdale Gardens.

Cedar Woods State Manager WA, Ben Rosser, said we’ve seen strong demand at Solaris Private Estate since the project launched last year and it’s exciting to see the community come to fruition.

“Community events like this one provide an opportunity for residents to come together and bond which is great to see. It’s important to Cedar Woods that we create community connection within our projects, establishing a foundation for our residents to continue after we leave.” Mr Rosser said.

“It’s fantastic to be launching the first Solaris park as several of our initial purchasers move into their new homes and I look forward to seeing the community enjoy this new amenity.”

Cedar Woods were supported by members of the Forrestdale Football Club, who joined the day to christen the new grass area, run the BBQ and join in the festivities.

Solaris was identified as a major sponsor for the club as part of the Cedar Woods’ Community Grants program, which supports a variety of organisations and initiatives that foster community spirit within their developments.

Clydesdale Gardens is located on the corner of Drafthorse Approach and Gelderland Lane.
